History of the Diocese
The history of Christianity in Vasai region is almost as old as that of the Church in India.
Thomas D’Souza was born on 23rd March 1970 in Chulne (Vasai), He was ordained as Priest on 18th April 1998 and opted for the Diocese of Vasai on 15th August 1998. The Holy Father has appointed Thomas D’Souza to lead the Diocese of Vasai as the Bishop of Vasai from December 15, 2024.
